Forbidden Love

Savin Lightguard
Dwarf Retribution Paladin
Honor- 8
Armor- 3
Resist- 3
Health- 8
Grand Marshal’s Demolisher- 4 tick, 1 range, 7 melee
Crit- Damage +x, where x is the number of damaged allies (including this character)
Blessing of Wisdom- Each adjacent ally may pay 1 tick less to make a magical attack. If it does, also add 1 tick to Savin.

Now here's a character you can build a party around. The best way to milk Blessing of Wisdom is via 2-tick attacks. With two casters you can be making two attacks every tick. Sure Savin won't get another turn but who cares? He waltzes in, drops a 7 dice attack, and for the rest of the game can use tanking reacts to protect his trigger happy buddies.

Ta'zo
Troll Fire Mage
Honor- 8
Armor- 1
Resist- 2
Health- 5
Scorch- 2 tick, 3 range, 5 magic (fire)
Crit- Damage +1
Impact- When Tazo Crits with a Fire attack add 1 to the defenders clock.

The way in which these two characters interact is mouthwatering. It might cost 24 honor, but a party of Savin and 2 Ta'zo could likely lock an opponent out of the game. Sadly, they won't have the opportunity to team up, so I'll be looking for an Alliance equivalent to the fiery Troll.

Yah, when I saw the guy I assumed that someone would try to break him like that. It will also depend on just how many good Reacts the Paladin class gets.

A few critiques:
a) the combo lacks mobility. Once the Paladin gets drained of ticks, your 3 characters will pretty much need to stay immobile or lose the benefits.
b) Ta'zo is fragile as hell for 8 Honor, so you better hope those Reacts are good.

The band seems custom-made for camping strategies, except that 24 Honor is pretty much in the high end of costs, so you would rarely be inclined to be the defender. You would definitly want a map like the one we heard about where the VPs are in the middle of the map and are just 2 hexes away from each other (so that one mini can potentially give you 2 VPs). You park the pally on that spot, DPS goons with 2 ticks attacks next to him and to the VP area.

a) and b) are givens.

As you can tell, it's not a hit-and-run party. The aim is to take them on at their home VP location and blow them out. It'd be a one conflict gambit.

In the TCG I often tried some of the jankiest combos around...and they never worked. this looks nice on paper, but it smells like something I woudl try (and that's not a good thing). LOL

Also, currently I've only seen ONE React for the Pally, and it's only there to boost his own Armor and Resist. Considering that without any good Reacts the combo basically means your 8 Honor guy sits there unused, only useful as a boost to his companions, I think that future spoiled pally Reacts will greatly influence whether this sort of combo is viable or no.

What are Ruby's stats? I don't see them anywhere, and I'm very interested, given she's the only Alliance mage I've seen any sign of. Doesn't she have scorch like Tazo? What's Ruby's honor cost?

johntrue, check the official site at www.wowminis.com. She is part of the downloadable demo or I think they have her stats in a forum thread titled spoiler compilation. I know her attack is 3 ticks, 3 range, and 6 arcane dice. She is 5 honor and 5 or 6 health.
